Taking its cues from the very finest guitars of the ‘50s and ‘60s, our debut model – the aptly-named Model 1 – is an uncompromising electric made with the utmost care and attention. Crafted entirely by hand by one expert luthier in our workshop on the South Coast of England, it employs materials and techniques rarely seen in today’s market, while doing away with the nasty solvents and chemicals of old.
Our aim is simple: to make a guitar that sounds good, looks good, and lasts. Of course, this isn’t so simple in practice, but we’ve considered every detail, so you’ll still be playing your Model 1 when it becomes vintage in its own right. A Poplar or Obeche body is light and easy to handle, but incredibly resonant, giving the guitar a rich, full sound. The neck has a familiar C carve with Bolivian rosewood fingerboard and Jescar 47095 frets makes this a dream to play, whatever your style.
Its shape nods to classic silhouettes, but it has its own distinctive personality. Even if you’re sat in the cheap seats, you’ll be able to tell it’s a Model 1 they’re playing on stage. All of the components are sustainably sourced, the signature “thin skin” finish is water-based, and it does away with nasty solvents and polyurethane resins. On top of that, no bone or hide glue is used, so the Model 1 is completely vegan. A clean design, cleanly made.
